Tropical Fruit Drinks - What Are the Health Benefits of Vitamins in Fruit Juice?

"Tropical Fruit Drinks - What Are the Health Benefits of Vitamins in Fruit Juice?"," It used to be just oranges, grapes, cranberry and pomegranate but with the arrival of drinks from the tropical countries such as mango, mangosteen, lychee, guyabano (sour sop) and fresh coconut juice, a new set of exciting refreshments abound the supply market.

What are the protective properties or vitamins in fruit juice that makes it ideal for everybody? Each fruit carries unique health protective properties like apples will be different from oranges, grapes will not have similar substances from pomegranate, or tropical fruit drinks give differing compounds.

Cranberry carries improved renal function and marked reduction in urinary tract infections.
Pomegranates likewise help in promoting prostate health and have properties that can clear clogs in arteries.
In addition, prune juice that is rich in sorbitol, relieves constipation.
Sour sop, for instance, has been reviewed and found to have the capabilities to kill colon cancer cells with a chemical substance that is 10,000 times the potency of Adriamycin - the most commonly prescribed chemotherapy drug.
Some other natural fruit drink like fresh coconut juice had been found to relieve and control the build-up of kidney stones.
Just like grape wine that is found to prevent cardiovascular problems, drinking in moderation should still be followed and nobody should take in huge amounts simply because fruit juices have known protective or healing properties.

The Gold Guide to Pretty Heart Jewelry

"The Gold Guide to Pretty Heart Jewelry"," Do you know what it was? It was gold, and it was a timeless way to denote how rich and powerful a person was.
This is our free gold guide to beautiful heart jewelry.

Gold is one of our most valuable and precious metals.
Did you happen to know that? A mere ounce of the stuff can be stretched into a fine wire about 5 miles long.
It won't corrode or rust, so it will last almost indefinitely.
It is in our seas and rivers and bodies of water.
It is also in our plant life.
 It takes about 2.

Jewelry's Most Popular Metal

The most popular metal in the modern jewelry of today is gold.
In terms of one single jewelry item, it is without a doubt the ""simple gold wedding band"" (since weddings are so popular).
It must be mixed with other metals in order to make it more strong and durable.
What types of gold jewelry are there you ask? Consider: (1) 18k gold jewelry, (2) 14k gold jewelry, (3) Indian gold jewelry, (4) White gold jewelry, (5) Gold jewelry, (6) 24k gold jewelry, (7) Rose gold jewelry, (8) Gold body jewelry, (9) Wholesale gold jewelry, (10) Gold charm jewelry, (11) 22k gold jewelry, (12) Gold horse jewelry, (13) Gold plated jewelry, (14) Other cool gold jewelry items.
Here are some derivations: in Arabic we have qirat, in Greek we have keration, and in Italian the word carato.
Since the pure gold Byzantine coin (called the solidus by the way) weighed 24 karats, the 24 karat mark (24 KT or 24K) became the symbol used to indicate that an item was pure gold.
Bugs bunny preferred to be paid in carrots, but that is another item all together.
In jewelry terms, the carat has a double meaning.
In the United States, when we want to indicate the gold content rather than the weight, we use a ""k"", such as ""karat"", to avoid any confusion that may arise.
In some regions of the world they prefer to use 18K or 20K because (A) of its brighter yellow color and (B) for the simple fact that it is closer to being pure 24K gold.

Gold 990

There is a new alloy on the way that we should mention.
This means you have almost pure gold, with greatly increased durability.
Still, if you are looking for a way to have "almost pure" gold and better durability, this alloy may suit you great.
In the United States, in order for an item to be called "gold" it has to be at least 10K.

Is All Gold Yellow?

Gold is mostly associated with the color yellow, but not all gold is yellow.
As mentioned earlier, since pure gold is too soft and malleable for jewelry use, and since countries have different standards for what"gold" means, you can change the color of "gold" by exchanging the alloys that you happen to add to it.
Green gold is made up of gold, silver, copper, and zinc.
Pink (or red) gold is composed of gold, copper, and sometimes a tiny amount of silver.
When you are purchasing a piece of jewelry you should be concerned about underkarating.
Underkarating means that although the jewelry item is marked to indicate a certain amount of jewelry content it can contain less than the amount indicated.
Since the jewelry item they are selling you contains less gold and more alloy than what is indicated, what kind of a bargain is that? As always, the buyer must beware.

What is the Manufacturer's Registered Trademark?

You should always look for a manufacturer's registered trademark on any gold jewelry item you purchase.
In addition, as more and more jewelers get concerned about being held liable, they are willing to only purchase jewelry items from manufacturers who are willing to stand by what they sell.
They won't dare mess up in this particular area.
Pure gold does not tarnish, and as a result will not discolor the skin.
This happens mostly under moist or damp conditions.
This problem can be even worse in those areas where there is salt in the air, so if you plan a trip to the beach with your gold jewelry.

Oh and one more thing we should talk about.
Some makeup contains compounds that are actually harder than the jewelry in which they are coming into contact with? Did you know that? As these compounds rub and grind against the jewelry you are wearing they can cause some of the gold to flake off.
When this "dust" makes contact with your sweaty skin, a black smudge is what is left over.
Plain soap and water is the preferred solution.
You should wipe the jewelry periodically with a nice soft cloth to remove any tarnish that may "build up".

Why not check and see if a similar piece of jewelry is available from another manufacturer? You may find that one jewelry item causes discoloration while a similar looking one does not.
Jewelry manufacturers often use different alloys (or different combinations of alloys) in jewelry development.

You know, you can always switch to a more pure form of gold jewelry.
After all, it is these alloys that are causing the problem, and if you move more in the direction of pure gold.

In Conclusion

We hope you enjoyed our Free Gold Guide Tour into the World of Gold Jewelry and Skin Discoloration.
We do focus on heart jewelry primarily, but we also provide general information regarding the history of jewelry, and where you can purchase other great jewelry items.

Rare and Precious Gold and Platinum Buying Guide

"Rare and Precious Gold and Platinum Buying Guide", It is also a popular choice for setting gemstones.
"  As with gems, wherever there are significant price differences there are usually quality differences.

What is gold?

Gold is one of the world's most precious metals.
It is one of our rarest metals, and since pure gold doesn't rust or corrode, it can last forever.
Approximately two and a half to three tons of ore are needed to extract one ounce of gold.
The simple gold wedding band probably accounts for more of the world's gold than any other single type of jewelry.
When two or more metals are mixed together, we call the resulting product an alloy.

What is a Karat? Or is it Carat?

In jewelry, the term carat (or, Karat) has a double meaning: carat is used as a measurement of weight for gemstones, with one carat weighing 1/5 gram; carat is also used in countries around the word to indicate the amount of pure gold in a piece of gold jewelry.
Jewelry should always be marked to indicate how much pure gold it contains.
The word karat (carat) is derived from the word for fruit of the carob tree: in Italian, carato; in Arabic, qirat; in Greek, keration.
Also, the pure gold Byzantine coin cald the solidus weighed 24 karats.

To understand the concept as applied to gold, imagine that, "pure gold" is a pie into 24 equal "slices" or parts.
So, 24 KT would mean that 24 parts (out of a total of 24) are gold.
In the 18 karat gold jewelry, 18 parts are pure gold and six are another metal (or, 18/24 = 3/4 = 75% pure gold); in 12 karat, 12 parts are pure gold, 12 parts another metal (12/24 = 1/2 = 50% pure gold).

I some cultures, 24 karat gold jewelry is required for certain jewelry pieces, but it's generally agreed that 24 karat, or pure gold, is too soft for jewelry use.
In the United States, we prefer 14 or 18 karat gold because it is more durable than higher karat gold.

In some countries such as Italy, the percentage of pure gold is indicated by a number representing how many parts; out of a total of 1,000 parts, are pure gold.
 This corresponds to 18 KT.
"  A piece marked 96 contained as much gold as 96 zolotniks, which equals pure gold; 72 equals 18 KT (750); 56 equals 14 KT (585).
"  The laws governing the actual content of gold required in piece of jewelry, however, vary.

The many colors of gold

Pure gold is always yellow.
Those usually added to gold for jewelry use include copper, zinc, silver, nickel, platinum, and palladium (a metal in the platinum family).
Another practice is to plate 14 KT gold jewelry with 18 KT for an 18 KT look, that is, a stronger yellow color.

Some people are allergic to nickel and should not wear white gold containing nickel.
White gold that contains palladium will be more expensive than yellow gold or white gold containing another alloy.

What causes skin discoloration with some gold jewelry?

Pure gold doesn't tarnish and won't discolor the skin, but alloys in the gold can corrode and produce discoloration to the skin in contact with the gold, especially under moist or damp conditions.

Smog can also be a problem.
The tarnish then rubs off, discoloring skin or clothing.

Another common cause of discoloration is metallic abrasion caused by some makeup.
As the harder compounds rub against the jewelry, they cause tiny particles of metal to flake off, forming a darkish looking dust.

There are several possible solutions to the problem of skin discoloration.
Keep your jewelry clean as well, and wipe it periodically with a soft cloth to remove tarnish.

Pay attention to the design of jewelry you select if skin discoloration seems to be a problem; wide shanks can cause perspiration, and rings with an inner concave surface can cause moisture and contaminants to collect, causing both discoloration and dermatitis.
The higher the gold content, the less likely it is that discoloration will occur because in the higher karat gold there is less of the alloy, such as copper, silver, nickel, that might corrode.

Sometimes simply changing to a similar product by a different manufacturer may solve the problem.
Manufacturers often use different combinations of alloys, or different percentages or ratios of alloys.

Since different metals, and different ratios, are used to produce different colors, discoloration may result when wearing one particular color or gold, but not when wearing other colors.

Determining value requires more than scale!

-  Weight is one factor that goes into determining the value of a piece of gold jewelry.
There are 20 pennyweights to one ounce; if you multiply grams by 0.
Weight is important because it is an indication of the actual amount of pure gold in the piece.
When buying gold from a gold manufacturer, for example, factored into the price per gram is the cost of gold PLUS the cost for labor and workmanship.

-  Design and construction is important not only because of the piece's finished look, but also because specific details in the overall design and construction affect comfort, wear-ability, and ease in putting the piece on or taking it off.
This adds to the cost of any piece of jewelry.
"" some award winning designers command top dollar, as do top painters, sculptors, and other artists.
In looking at a piece of gold jewelry, you must also consider the type of construction necessary to create a particular design or look.
 e.
) and weight alone would be equivalent to placing a value on a painting based on the cost of paint and canvas alone.
Is the piece produced by machine or by hand?  The type of construction required to create a particular design may require that it be made entirely, or in part, by hand, while others can be completely made by machine.

-  Finish is where we take into account the care and labor costs associated with the actual finishing of the piece.
Consider whether the item was hand polished or machine polished; some pieces are machine made, but finished by hand.
Each step in the process, and each special step or skill required, adds; sometimes dramatically, to the cost.
When examined carefully, however, if often becomes clear where the difference lie, both in quality and cost.
Only after carefully evaluating all these factors can you appreciate gold jewelry and recognize cost differences and real value.
If a piece of gold jewelry is underkarated, it means that the jewelry is marked to indicate a certain gold content, but actually contains less than is indicated.
Unfortunately, most people never learn that they have bought underkarated gold.

Look for a manufacturer's registered trademark.
Buying from a reliable source is the first step.
To avoid being held liable themselves, more and more jewelers are buying only from manufacturers willing to stamp what they make with their own mark, a mark registered with the U.
 Patent and Trademark Office.
Fine, expensive gold jewelry should always be tested.
Any jeweler or gemologist appraiser can make such determination, in most cases, quickly and easily with only a gold tester or by using the streak test.
For this reason the streak test is better but the person doing the test must be sure to take a file or carbide scriber and make a very deep scratch in order to penetrate the plating for an accurate test.
Take the time to understand what you are buying, buy only from a reputable source, and be sure to have it tested.

Platinum: cool, classic, and contemporary

Platinum, which has been used in jewelry since the turn of the century, became especially popular during the Edwardian period because its malleable character made it a natural for the intricate and lacy work style of the day.
Long a favorite for classic looks and for the finest diamond settings, platinum is now evolving as the metal of choice for design trends; sleek, bold, contemporary looks for brooches, necklaces, chains, and earrings.

Nothing is purer than platinum

Platinum is even more rare and valuable than gold.
These six silvery white metals are generally found together in nature, with platinum and palladium the most abundant, and osmium, rhodium, and ruthenium the rarest.
"  Most platinum jewelry also contains small amounts of the rarer and more expensive elements iridium or ruthenium for added strength.
This is greatly appreciated by those sensitive people who experience reactions to or skin discoloration from jewelry containing base metals.

Platinum is identified by karat marks.
In Europe the numerical marks 950 or PT950 indicate platinum.
This cost more since these are rarer and costlier metals.
Rhodium is also harder and whiter than platinum and, because it is so durable, doesn't wear off quickly, as does gold plating.

Rhodium plating should be considered especially for people who have allergic reactions to 10 KT or 14 KT gold, since it can help eliminate reaction to the alloys.
This selection usually depends on personal preference, skin tone, and the color of other jewelry you may own.

If you decide yellow is the color you want, then you must decide whether to get 14 Karat or 18 Karat.
But the yellow won't be as bright.
After several years the finish may wear off, but it can be re-plated foe a minimal charge.
Even though white gold and platinum may be similar in appearance, they are very different metals.
White gold is very hard and very resistant to scratching but exhibit a brownish or yellowish cast which must be covered by rhodium plating.

One significant disadvantage of white gold is that it is more brittle than platinum or yellow gold.
Platinum is somewhat softer and more malleable than white gold, making it an ideal choice for very intricate settings that require intensive labor.
Over time, platinum also holds up better than goldOne disadvantage of platinum is that many jewelers do not have proper equipment to work with it.
If you like basic classic design, you shouldn't have a problem finding a setting you like.

In final analysis, it is up to the individual to weight the relative advantage and disadvantage of gold or platinum.

Expert's Quick Guide To Buying Your Perfect Gold Jewelry

"Expert's Quick Guide To Buying Your Perfect Gold Jewelry"," It is called a precious metal because it has a high economic value and is relatively scarce in relation to the level of demand for it.
At times of trouble, people always default to valuable portable property such as gold, diamonds and other valuable gems.
It is very rare that couples exchange rings other than gold rings when getting married.

Gold is very malleable and so has been the preferred metal for jewelers over centuries.
If it gets dull, just applying a quick polish restores it’s luster and shine.

Gold keeps it’s value over time and is easily marketable

Gold is easy to work with so you will get the most beautiful jewelry made out of gold

Everybody loves gold.
This is important because it will help you determine how much to budget for your purchase, what quality and type of jewelry to buy and from where to buy it.
If, however, you are buying an engagement ring, an anniversary ring or a wedding ring, you had better pay more attention to the quality of the ring and the service you can expect from the supplier.
You want the perfect ring so you need to make sure that your supplier has a good return or exchange policy and that they are easily contactable.
The different types of gold jewelry are determined by the metals mixed in with the pure gold, and whether the piece of jewelry is formed as a solid piece, plated or maybe hollow.
However, pure gold is very soft and easily bendable.
So to make it practical for jewelry that can be worn everyday it is mixed with different metals.
The higher the Karat (k) the higher the percentage of pure gold to other metals in the jewelry.

· 18K gold contains 18 parts gold and 6 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 75% gold.
3% gold.

· 10K gold contains 10 parts gold and 14 parts of one or more additional metals, making it 41.

10K gold is the minimum karat that can be called ""gold"" in the United States.

European Markings:

Jewelry from Europe may be marked is a different manner with numbers that indicate their percentage of gold like this:

· 18K gold is marked 750 to indicate 75% gold

· 14K gold is marked 585 for 58.
7%

Genuine gold jewelry should have, in addition to the karat marking, a hallmark or trademark that identifies its maker.
The hallmark or country of origin may sometimes be left out in very small and delicate pieces of Jewelry.
However, gold can be made into jewelry of different and exciting colors by adding different metals to it.
Any gold alloy from18K, down to 10K can still be called solid gold.

White Gold: Created by adding Palladium or Nickel to pure gold.
Greenish Cast Gold: Created by adding silver to pure gold.
This is OK as long as the buyer is aware that the piece of jewelry they are buying is not SOLID gold and as long as they are also aware of the quality of the plating.
More recent gold-filled jewelry have markings that indicate how much and what type of gold was used for the layer.
Gold filled jewelry generally retain their coating longer than gold plated jewelry.
This means that the goal plating usually wears away more quickly.
Some will be thicker and more even than others and thus may provide you with long lasting true gold finish, sometimes comparable to gold-filled jewelry.
It is unfortunate, but there are still unscrupulous people out there that try to pass off gold plated jewelry as solid gold.
If you’re not sure take an expert with you when buying.
This will last you a lifetime, many lifetimes actually.

If you are allergic to nickel or other metals then you should aim to buy the higher karat gold jewelry such as 18k or 22k gold.
Your skin is still your most important and valuable piece of jewelry and you should treat it accordingly.
And oh yes, try not to wear your gold plated or gold filled jewelry when washing up or using any form of detergents.

When wearing Jewelry always remember that a confident and happy wearer can make almost any piece of Jewelry look more beautiful and valuable.

The Beautiful Tropical Sunsets of the Caribbean - Why They Occur

"The Beautiful Tropical Sunsets of the Caribbean - Why They Occur"," There are some locations on certain Caribbean islands like Rick's Café in Jamaica and Shirley Heights in Antigua that are world famous for the sunsets that can be viewed from these locations and an evening spent looking at these spectacular sunsets is often the highlight of a vacation.

To understand why there are such beautiful sunsets in the Caribbean we must first consider what is meant by the term sunset.
While the sun going below the horizon is actual sun set, most people associate the term sunset with the brilliant colours of gold, red, yellow and purple that are seen in the sky when the sun goes below the horizon.
As the sunlight passes through the atmosphere the colour elements in the sunlight are scattered, with the blue light being scattered by air molecules and the white light being scattered by water drops and dust.
At sunset the light from the sun has a much longer distance to travel before it reaches the human eye.
Because of this increased distance more of the blue and violet elements of the light are scattered which leaves the yellow, red and purple colours to be seen by the human eye.
The answer now lies in the geography of the Caribbean.
Without dust in the atmosphere the sunset colours tend to be yellow or orange while an increase in the dust particles causes the colours to be more towards red and purple.
The area called the Caribbean is a collection of small islands surrounded by miles of ocean.
This is not to say that there is no dust in the atmosphere above the islands of the Caribbean, rather the dust is in small quantities creating the correct blend to give the full range of sunset colours.
Every year between June and August, there is a phenomenon known as Sahara Dust.
The dust, originating from fine particles in the arid topsoil, is transported into the atmosphere by winds and carried more than 10,000 feet high.
This Sahara Dust enhances the richness of the sunset seen on some days.
Most Caribbean islands are relatively small in size so that no part of any island is far from a westward facing beach.
Even when inland on a Caribbean island, the fact that the majority of areas still have their natural vegetation provides a scene for a visually rich sunset.

All sunsets can be beautiful but when the sky has a few clouds the sunset can be awe inspiring.
Very high clouds such as cirrus, cirrostratus, and cirrocumulus clouds, which are made up almost entirely of ice crystals due to the extreme altitudes where they are found, capture the light before there is any colour loss due to dust.
For many countries, low lying clouds such as stratus and stratocumulus clouds do not generally enhance the sunset because they tend to be at the level where there is much dust in the atmosphere.

Wherever you are in the Caribbean when the sun is setting, take a moment to enjoy the beauty of the sunset.

Yellow and White Gold Information

"Yellow and White Gold Information"," But what is gold? Yes the scientists tell us gold is an element with the chemical symbol Au.
Yes but what does that mean to me.
Gold can be bent and molded into elegant engagement rings to show the timeless affection of one person to another.

Gold Purity

Is all gold the same? We hear it is pure gold, or solid gold or 24 karat gold.
Basic to understand the uses of gold in jewelry is karat.
Karated gold used in engagement rings can be from 100% gold to as low as 37% gold.
Fine gold (pure) is 24 karat.
67% 41714K 14/24 58.
00% 75022K 22/24 91.
An example is a 14-karat gold wedding ring.
3% gold and 41.
In most engagement rings the stamp in the ring is 14k or some times 583.
So the only pure gold is 24 karat gold which is sometimes called 999 gold.
A plated piece of jewelry is a thin layer of gold over a base or non gold metal.
 HGE means hydrostatic gold electroplating.
In other words, a plated piece of jewelry has very little gold.
The 14KP is a marking for plum gold which is a true mix of 14 karat gold.
5k to be stamped 14k so the 14KP tells the consumer this is a true 14 karat mix.
The white color is achieved by a careful choice of the alloying metals, which bleach the deep yellow of pure gold.
Nowadays, they are jewelry metals in their own right and currently very fashionable and desirable.
Most engagement rings are 14k or 18k.
White gold bridal jewelry is increasingly popular.

Gold and Silver Maple Leafs Get New Packaging

"Gold and Silver Maple Leafs Get New Packaging", Gold Maple Leafs debuted in 1979, Silver Maple Leafs in 1988.
9999 fine) gold bullion coins.
Because Maple Leafs are 24-karat, pure gold, they are "soft," relative to alloyed gold coins, such as American Gold Eagles and Krugerrands.

Actually, reinserting Gold Maple Leafs without at least some scratching is nearly impossible.

Gold Maple Leafs carry the image of Queen Elizabeth II on the front, with a flat, clear field alongside the image.
The problem arises from the coins' really sharp milled (reeded) edges.

Then there is the problem with investors who like to "heft" their coins "to get a feel of them.
Should a Gold Maple Leaf be dropped, rim damage is almost guaranteed.
The problem has become so widespread that many wholesalers bid only "melt" for Gold Maple Leafs, regardless of their condition.

Gold Maple Leafs, like the Gold Eagles and the Krugerrands, are bullion coins, which trade for the value of their gold content, plus small premiums.
Still, buyers do not like to receive damaged coins.

Some wholesalers refuse to take the time to individually inspect Gold Maple Leafs and separate them according to their condition.
Fortunately, the free market being what it is, there are still some wholesalers who will buy according to condition.
Still, the packaging makeover should fillip sales of new Gold Maple Leafs.
However, the plastic protecting the Gold Maple Leafs will be heavier and more durable than the plastic used with 1-oz gold bars.

With the new packaging, the Royal Canadian Mint made another big change: 1-oz Gold Maple Leafs will now come 25 to a box, whereas the old packaging is ten to a tube.
As a result of the change, investors wanting "complete original packaging" will move up to 25 ounces.
The new packaging also will require more storage space for Gold Maple Leafs than for 1-oz gold coins that come in tubes.
Gold Maple Leafs have long been the most popular 1-oz pure. The new packaging is expected to debut sometime in August.
However, Silver Maple Leafs in their old packaging are still available.
Each coin was individually enclosed in plastic.

Silver Maple Leafs will now come 20 to a tube, 25 tubes to a container, and 500 coins to a "mint box."
The new packaging should make Silver Maple Leafs more competitive with American Silver Eagles, presently the most popular 1-oz modern silver bullion coins being sold.

You can Find Gold Nuggets While On Vacation In Alaska

"You can Find Gold Nuggets While On Vacation In Alaska"," Several historically productive gold mines have created facilities to bring in prospectors and tourists to see and experience the remote gold country of the Alaskan wilderness and find their own nuggets.
The mine owners provide the necessary equipment and help so that everyone finds some gold.

There are a number of operators beginning to offer this type of unique recreation, including the Moore Creek Mine in the Iditarod area, the Gaines Creek Mine and several others.
Visitors have the opportunity to potentially find some very significant gold while experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Alaskan wilderness.
On the other hand, mine owners gain a new and unique source of financing for exploration of their property and other operations.

In June of 2006,  I had to opportunity to visit and sample the primitive Alaskan mining experience for myself - I went to visit the Moore Creek gold mine.
There is no practical access to the mine, except by air.
From there, our bush pilot, Mike Stewart, was able to transport us and our gear from McGrath out to the mine in three trips.
I have never flown in a little single engine plane before, so this was a real first for me.
In such a little plane you really get the feel for how fragile the plane is and how the dangerous outcome can be if you have any problems.

It was so strange to me that it was never dark the entire time I was there.
Evening campfires were held in what seemed to be essentially full daylight.
One night I went to bed at 11 pm and the sun was shining through a window in my tent right into my eyes - that's something I'd never experience at home.
were in or around our camp.
The only bears we saw were viewed from the air in a plane.

The facilities at the Moore Creek Mine are very comfortable with large cots and two men assigned to each roomy tent.
Tasty and hearty meals were provided each day by camp cook Bob Herschbach, Steve's cousin.
Arrangements are such that this does not impede the ongoing tourist operation.
The Moore Creek property has been only lightly explored for in place lode-gold deposits and may hold significant potential.
While it is generally believed that the most likely locations for any gold bearing resources still in place lie within the Monzonite pluton on the hill above the mine and the volcanic rocks adjacent to it, other possibilities were being considered.

The group I went in with was a really great bunch of guys, but as for me, my luck was as bad as its ever been.
I dug at least 50 targets - all trash.
The next day, another guy from the group crossed at the same point, turned left went about 10 feet and found a 2 ounce nugget - that's just the way the ball bounces.
On the other hand, Glen, one of the other guys in our group, really had the lucky hand - he got more than a pound of gold during the week, including 5 pieces over an ounce.
He told me he was digging around 4 trash targets to every one gold target and that was far better results than I achieved.
Lucky"" - His luck for the week was pretty much the exact opposite of mine.
I did a bit better there and I recovered one third of an ounce of gold with the high banker - so I at least had some nice Alaskan gold to bring home.
The odds for a spectacular big nugget find may be less, but the gold more sure.
It was the trip of a lifetime for me - a beautiful and very isolated, unspoiled country different from any I'd ever experienced.

Gold Panning

"Gold Panning"," if in a known gold-bearing region, to actually come up with some color in your pan! That's when it all goes down hill from there.
then a few pickers, next thing you know you're looking to buy a sluice and then a high-banker and when that doesn't cut it anymore your packing in a 6" dredge! So basically the meager gold pan was your gateway drug into the world of gold fever! 98% of all gold prospectors never recover!

Just kidding!

Sometimes as I begin to ramble I tend to look back on myself as an example, so work with me.

Gold pans come in many different shapes, sizes, and colors, the round ones are the typical pan most people are familiar with, but all are designed to keep the heaviest material at the bottom.
it sure is a lot harder to lose your hard-earned gold, and they (the Chinese gold prospectors) were some of the most efficient miners to hit the gold rush!! They went at it in a very methodical and well-planned way, and left nothing of value in their path, when they were done working an area you better believe it was cleaned out.
the potatoes are easily panned out, and as a Frisbee when bored, but after using a lot of gadgets and toys for finding gold, one usually ends up right back at the panning tub for a final cleanup, so don't forget to always keep at-least a gold pan in your recreational vehicle just in case you come across a spot that just looks too good to NOT have gold in it, because its cheap and doesn't take up much space behind your seat and its easy to use, and don't forget there are plenty of articles and websites online that can teach you how to pan for gold, as well as videos on "YouTube" under "gold panning" But it's up to you to practice your gold panning, so get out there and pan for gold!! With a little practice you'll be a gold panning pro in no time!

Panning For Gold at $1,200 Per Ounce

"Panning For Gold at $1,200 Per Ounce", At such low prices, gold panning was considered a fun hobby that could possibly pay for your equipment and weekend excursions, but not a realistic source of income.

Gold panning is an excellent family activity that provides exercise, family bonding, an appreciation for nature and put money in your pocket.
You need to have the right equipment, know how to use it, know where to use it and know what to look for.
For adults I recommend a 14"plastic pan with ridges to collect the gold as it settles.

Once you have the proper equipment you need to find a place to pan.
To find the best places to pan you can research online, check with medal detector and panning dealers in your area, look for gold prospecting maps at your local library or talk to "old timers" in the area.
Many places will allow panning as long as you are not digging or dredging.

Now you're ready to pan! Locate an area of the stream where it changes velocity, such as a bend or where the river widens.
 Pick out any large rocks.
This will allow the heavier material, including the gold, the settle to the bottom.

The remaining sand should be mostly black.
Tilt the pan forward and gently shake it back and forth so that water moves the sand around.
Use the sucker bottles the suck up any pieces of gold that are in the bottom.
 Good luck with your prospecting.

Coconut Oil and Tropical Fruits: Are They Safe?

"Coconut Oil and Tropical Fruits: Are They Safe?","  These groups campaigned that restrictions should be placed on the importation of these oils from the tropics because they increased the risk of heart diseases.
This attack was branded the "Tropical Grease Campaign."

History and good science however, have vindicated the use of these oils, as research has shown that these oils are in fact protective against heart diseases.
Trans-fats have been shown conclusively, to promote heart diseases.

Another campaign is currently being developed to restrict the use of Tropical fruits and ground provisions.
They argue that the increasing prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus worldwide is to be blamed on the consumption of food with high "Glycemic Index. "
The higher the Glycemic Index of a food the greater the glucose and Insulin elevation after consumption of that food.
This fat retention along with the increased blood glucose increases the risk for Diabetes, therefore foods that have a high Glycemic Index should be avoided.
Thus fruits with low Glycemic Index should be encouraged including Temperate fruits such as apples and pears.
" It would not be surprising if in the next few years there is a considerable reduction in the export and sales of Tropical fruits and ground provision.
It is surprising that this belief is propagated since statistics show that Diabetes is far less common in countries that have a high intake of Tropical fruits and ground provision, than those with a low intake.
Cortisol is produced by the body in a rhythmic pattern in which it is high at 8o'clock every morning.
With a little stretch of your imagination it may be a good idea if you harmonized the growth building hormone (Insulin) with the body's destructive hormone (Cortisol), you would probably cancel out the negative effects of these two hormones and result in a more balanced and positive outcome.
Otherwise, the prevalence of Diabetes will increase and the likelihood that the "Tropical Glycemic Campaign" will succeed and damage our export and agricultural economy.

"Shark pictures - CSI Style!"

"Shark pictures - CSI Style!"," It does not matter if it is taking during a shark watch tour, a surfing incident or a shark attack, pictures, even fuzzy ones can help identify the shark species involved.
CSI style!

You see, even on shark pictures that are unclear, a bit too dark or too light, there are always clues that can be observed and used to inform people for safety reasons that certain shark specie is roaming in the coastal waters rimming the beach.

Depending on the clues provided by the shark pictures, you can identify the size, the shark specie, the approximate weight and even its intentions.
An example would be that large triangular-shaped teeth more than likely belong to a great white shark compared to hook-shaped teeth, which would be the ones owned by a tiger shark.

The color and the type of fins would also help in identifying the shark species included in the pictures.
You see, breaching is one of the peculiar behaviors of a great white shark.

Even things such as the shape of the snout, the eyes, the print on their skin or even some specific details such as barbells can help provide some useful information contained on shark pictures.

"Delicious Flavors in Ethiopian Coffee"

"Delicious Flavors in Ethiopian Coffee"

In fact, the coffee bean was supposed to have been discovered in Ethiopia as its origin, so we have that country to the thank for the popluar cup of Joe that we so enjoy on a daily basis here in the US.

The two most common species of coffee beans are Arabica and Robusta, though there are many other less popular species available.
One primary reason for this is that coffee does need to be cultivated directly on equator between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.
Once the coffee beans are grown, the berries from the plants are hand-picked, processed, and then dried to complete the harvesting itself.
Roasting does happen in many different temperature conditions, which is directly related to the design of the flavor and roast by the roast master.
Because of this reason, the Ethiopian Church did ban the secular consumption of coffee since it was seen as a religious drink.
Many times, you will find that Ethiopian coffee is light to medium bodied, it also offers a bright acidity.

It is important to look for 100% Arabica beans when you're searching for coffee beans from Ethiopia because that is the best way to ensure that your beans will have the highest quality in flavor and aroma.
It is a part of their economy, so they depend upon the small farm cultivation of coffee as a export.
