The LPN Programs started within the years after 1890's when doctors and hospital staff saw the importance of having extra pair of hands in caring for clients. Upon completion of an LPN program, one still has to take the NCLEX - PN or the "National Council Licensure Examination - Practical Nurse". Only if one is able to pass the exam will he or she be considered an LPN.Knowledge of how one becomes an LPN is important in determining the right online program. This is because one of the crucial points one should look into when considering where to enroll is whether or not a school, college, or university is offering the particular LPN program one is planning to take.
