Bachelor's and Associates Degrees of Nursing

Registered Nurses take care of the patient's basic needs and consult with them concerning their health conditions. They help the doctors with medical devices, administer medicine and promote health and cleanliness among patients. Along with State Licensure, RNs hold either associates or bachelor's degree.

Education and Training

All nursing education programs consist of classroom instruction and supervised clinical expertise in hospitals and other health care facilities. Students take courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology, chemistry, nutrition, psychology and other behavioral sciences, and nursing. Course work also consists of the liberal arts for BSN and ADN students.

To be a Registered Nurse, either bachelor's or associates degree is needed. Both programmes consist of classroom instructions together with supervised clinical training. Bachelor's degree program is much more sophisticated than Associates degree program. People then should complete a national licensing examination so as to get a nursing license.

Associates Degree

The 2-year associate's degree focuses more on technical skills than theory and is often a stepping stone to the BSN. As Associates degree is quicker than BSN degree, students give it the first priority to become a Registered Nurse. The degree is also considered as entry level nursing degree.

Bachelor's Degree

Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs generally requires 4 years to finish. The 1st 2 years consist of general education program. The final two years consist of nursing abilities and instruction. A 4-year bachelor's degree in nursing degree programme is the entry point for professional nursing practice. It's also the standard and sophisticated graduate nursing programme.

Profession Opportunity

Numerous Bachelors Degree programmes provide semester long internship at health care facilities. You are able to carry on to work in that health care facility after finishing your studies. You are able to also look for RN jobs provided by various health care facilities such as hospitals, medical settings, nursing home settings and private home healthcare agencies. Nurses also attend conferences to remain updated on present nursing trends. RNs have to go to such kind of conferences to enhance their nursing abilities and acquire much better position on job.
